Craft Fair - November 14

It is official: I will have a booth at the Artesian Craft Fair with my friend Amy Cornwell on Saturday, November 14 at East Middle School in Martinsville. The fair is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our booth will be in the main hallway (for those of you who know the building, we're at the top of the ramp in the science hallway). Come in the front doors and turn left.

I'm in full-fledged card-making mode right now. I want to have a large inventory of cards to sell, so I'm working as fast as my little hands (and my little girl) will let me.

Here are a few preview photos of the kind of stuff I'll be selling.

I also have a Twilight-inspired collection of cards. They're really cute, and all you Twilight fans out there will like them, I think.

Hope to see you at the Craft Fair!

Whistle while you work

I've been working on making lots of cards to sell at the East Middle School Craft Fair next month. I need to have a much bigger inventory to sell; but I'm getting there, slowly but surely.

I've been working on packs of cards instead of individual cards. I've made several 8-packs of Christmas-y cards. I think those will probably sell well, as the craft fair is in mid-November and people will be looking for Christmas cards. At least I'm hoping to sell stuff. I've got a long way to go before I'll feel that I have enough of an inventory, but it's fun to keep coming up with card ideas.

I'm tying the packs of cards with tan raffia instead of putting them in a plastic bag or container. It was my mom's idea. I think it looks really cute. I'll probably make little price tags and punch a hole in them and slide them onto the raffia and retie the bows. Haven't quite figured that out yet, but I've got some time.

I haven't taken any photos of the cards I'm making to sell. I probably should do that. I'll do it when I put price tags on them. Then I'll post some of the photos on here so you all can see what I've been making.

Stay tuned!

If at first you don't succeed...

The Earth Festival was a bust. I didn't sell any cards. I got a lot of lookers who told me my cards were cute, but I had no takers. I did, however, get to spend some nice QT with my best friend, Amy. So it wasn't all bad.

Amy and I are planning to share a booth at the East Middle School Craft Fair in November here in Martinsville. I'll keep you updated on that as more information comes available. Do I sound like a news media station, or what?

Halloween cards

I've been making some Halloween cards to sell at the festival, and I wanted to post some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Getting started

Well, friends, I am embarking on a new - only slightly intimidating - adventure. I am attempting to start a small card-making business. I want to continue to stay home with Emma and also make a little money at the same time.

This Saturday I will be driving up to the Atlanta New Earth Festival to see a friend of mine and sell some cards I've made at her booth. We'll be in front of The Mercantile on Main Street in Atlanta, IN. I'll have cards, and she makes beautiful jewelry. If you're in the area, stop by and check us out!

I'll post on here from time to time with photos of cards I've made and any other news and info about my business venture. Wish me luck!
